SARAH MADDOCKS MBACP – COUNSELLOR

  • “Whilst it is a big help to just freely talk and feel really listened to, I have also gained tools to better cope with life’s day-to-day challenges”.
  • “I was sceptical about seeing a counsellor but it turned out to be one of the best things I have ever done.”
  • I am at the Beechwood Practice on a Tuesday afternoon/early evening and work with individuals only, on both a short- or long-term basis.

As well as a small private practice, I work as a Counsellor in the NHS with teenagers and young adults and also in a local secondary school.–>
There are no quick fixes in therapy but giving yourself the space and time to think and talk through whatever difficulties you might be experiencing, in a non-judgemental environment, is not only beneficial for your wellbeing but also proven to help.

As an empathic and experienced practitioner, my role is to support and help you to understand and reflect on the issues that bring you into counselling. By questioning, understanding and exploration, clients are hopefully able to make sense of their situation and feel more in control.

I won’t tell you what to do, but I may suggest options or alternatives to help you cope better and find aspects of your situation more manageable.

Having worked as a counsellor for over 30 years in a variety of settings, I have accumulated considerable experience of different issues including:
Life stages. Grief and Loss. Past Abuse.
    Relationships. Stress & Anxiety. Depression
Health Issues. Obsessional and Negative thoughts.
Identity. Overthinking……. this list is not exhaustive.

If you decide to engage in counselling, following an initial Assessment, you will find that I provide a calm and relaxed environment. Over the years, many previous clients have found their counselling experience to be hugely beneficial whether it be after just a few sessions or having worked long term.

I am at The Beechwood Practice on a Tuesday afternoon/early evening and work face to face with individuals only, on both a short and long term basis.

As well as a small private practice, I also work as a Counsellor in the NHS with teenagers and young adults with cancer.
